London · Beyond AI Pilots

A CFO breakfast at AAB's Leadenhall office, co-hosted with Selona AI. Neoflo CEO Nipun Mehra and Group CFO Prithvi Rajaram led the discussion on where AI holds up in the finance function and where it falls short. Takeaways: CFOs put AI ROI near the bottom of their priorities. In Gartner's 2026 poll, 34% named driving enterprise AI ROI, the lowest-ranked of the priorities tested. "Automation" usually covers the easiest 80% of the work, while the edge cases need judgment and take up most of a finance team's time. And a lot of finance rules live in people's heads and leave when they do.

Orange County · AI ROI and build vs buy

A private dinner for about 20 at the Pendry in Newport Beach, hosted by Vibs, Neoflo's CTO and a professor at UC Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business. Takeaways: An ERP is hard to replace because of its history, while a tool that does one job can be rebuilt today. Most finance leaders are still working out an AI data policy. And nobody could put an ROI number on AI yet: the bill arrives as a single line with no split by team or use case.

San Francisco · The EBITDA test for AI

A private dinner in downtown San Francisco, hosted by Nipun Mehra and Vibhanshu Abhishek, for finance leaders from public companies, PE-backed operators and venture-backed businesses. The question: has AI in finance moved the EBITDA line yet? Takeaways: Tracking token usage is a start, but connecting it to business outcomes is still hard. Governance came up throughout the evening, and nobody at the table had a clear approach to it yet. Some finance operators are using AI to build custom dashboards for their teams.

Singapore · The CFO in an AI World

The first CFO Table, in Singapore, where Neoflo is headquartered. Nipun hosted, and guests wrote down their thoughts on paper before talking them through. Takeaways: Deterministic work doesn't need a model. If the logic is fixed, RPA or Python in Excel does it more cheaply and predictably. One suspended AI account can stall a finance function. And when agents answer each other's emails with no person in the loop, context gets lost and the replies get worse.

Online · Scale Your Finance Function

A live online workshop co-hosted with Selona AI, with Nipun Mehra, Neoflo CEO, and Rahul Jain. It covered how finance teams run AI across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash and record-to-report with clear ownership and audit-ready evidence, and how to pick a first use case you can prove in 90 days on the ERP you already have. Exceptions worked through live: a stuck invoice, a short payment and an accrual over tolerance.

There's no settled playbook for AI in finance yet,

There's no settled playbook for AI in finance yet,

So we bring the people working it out to one table. Neoflo hosts each dinner for 12 to 20 CFOs, controllers and VPs of finance from public companies, PE-backed operators and venture-backed businesses.

Every table runs under the Chatham House Rule, so you can repeat what was said but not who said it. Guests do most of the talking. The host opens with a few questions and spends about 15 minutes, without slides, on what Neoflo is building. Seats are confirmed on approval.

Questions finance leaders keep asking about AI

Questions finance leaders keep asking about AI

These five questions have come up again and again at the tables so far.

01

Does AI show up in the P&L?

Most finance teams use AI, and far fewer can show a return. In San Francisco, the table argued one question: has AI in finance moved the EBITDA line yet? Tracking token usage is a start, but connecting it to business outcomes is still hard. In Singapore, how CFOs measure ROI on AI spend was one of the topics guests asked to take to the next table. Discussed in Singapore and San Francisco, September 2026.

02

How do you measure the ROI when the AI bill arrives as one line?

Nobody at the Orange County table could put an ROI number on AI yet. The bill arrives as a single line with no split by team or use case, and the time one person saves doesn't automatically turn into company output. Guests talked about the "Super IC", one person who, with the right AI tools, covers work that used to take several, and whether that shows up in operating leverage, working capital or free cash flow. Discussed in Orange County, September 2026.

03

When AI produces a number, who checks it and signs it off?

Most finance AI pilots show that the AI can read the systems of record and produce accurate results. Production needs three more things: exceptions routed to a named owner as they change, controls built in for the people operating the system, and an auditable write-back to the system of record. A lot of finance rules live in people's heads and leave when they do, so writing them into workflows lets fixed logic run automatically while people handle the exceptions that need judgment. Discussed at the London breakfast, September 2026.

04

Where should finance teams avoid AI altogether?

Deterministic work doesn't need a model. If the logic is fixed, RPA or Python in Excel does it more cheaply and predictably. The Singapore table also flagged two risks: one suspended AI account can stall a finance function, and when agents answer each other's emails with no person in the loop, context gets lost and the replies get worse. Discussed in Singapore, September 2026.

05

Should you build or buy?

Finance teams used to find a vendor when something in the operations stack broke. Now many build a proof of concept first and look at the market afterwards. In Orange County, guests drew a line: an ERP is hard to replace because of its history, its workflows, its audit logs and the decisions nobody wrote down, while a tool that does one job can be rebuilt today. Discussed in Orange County, September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

01

Who is The CFO Table for?

CFOs, VPs of finance, controllers and other senior finance leaders at mid-sized and large companies who are working out where AI fits in their teams.

02

Will Neoflo talk about its product?

Briefly. The host spends about 15 minutes, without slides, on what Neoflo is building and takes questions. The rest of the evening is guests comparing notes.

03

What does it cost?

Nothing. Neoflo covers dinner.

04

How do I get a seat?

Request one on the event page. We keep each table small, so seats are confirmed on approval.

05

Is what I say on the record?

No. Every table runs under the Chatham House Rule, and nothing from the cards or the conversation is attributed to anyone. A few guests choose to record a short video under their own name for Unaudited Takes. That only happens with their agreement, and they see the clip before it goes out.

06

Can I bring a colleague?

Ask them to request their own seat on the event page so we can confirm it.

07

Can I come for part of the evening?

Yes. Most of the group discussion happens in the first hour, and we'll seat you where it's easy to leave early.

08

What should I wear?

Business casual.

09

Who isn't invited?

The table is for finance leaders, so we don't seat vendors, consultants, competitors, investors or people looking for work. We also take no more than two people from the same company.

10
